National Summit on Justice

About the Summit

The Summit, organized by the Federal Ministry of Justice in collaboration with the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the National Judicial Council (NJC), will serve as a platform to address the critical challenges facing the justice sector in Nigeria.

The Summit will receive, consider, validate and adopt the revised National Policy on Justice 2024 – 2028. This revised Policy, an offshoot of the National Policy on Justice 2017 – 2023, outlines broad objectives, frameworks, and initiatives for reforming the justice sector, promoting effective and efficient service delivery, and delineating the roles and responsibilities of justice institutions at various levels of government.

In addition, the Summit will consider several Justice Sector Reform Bills designed to significantly reform the judiciary, promote speedy dispensation of justice, human rights observance, and socio-economic development of the Country.

The Summit is expected to be declared open by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Honourable Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON.

The Summit will also be attended by the Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, CON, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and heads of various justice sector institutions in the country as well as well meaning Nigerians from different works of life.
